Benny Don Robinson

Minister Benny Don Robinson was born March 16, 1949 to Benjamin Robinson and Doris Hodge, at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother Calvin Earl Sanders and a half-sister Maxine Robinson Lunnie.

Benny Don accepted Christ at the age of 8 and was baptized at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. C.E. Canady, and later was re-baptized in 1971 by Rev. Laverne Swain. He accepted his call to ministry in June 1974. He later was ordained as a Minister under the leadership of Rev. Laverne Swain in June of 1975. He attended Ozark Theological Seminary and Jackson Theological Seminary in 1976. In 1986 he united with Salem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Charles B. Bailey. In 1990 he joined Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Price Ellis where he enjoyed taking turns leading the Wednesday evening bible study.

His early education began in North Little Rock school district, graduating from Scipio A. Jones High School in 1967. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from Shorter College in 1973. He received his Bachelor of Social Science Degree from Arkansas Baptist College in 1975.

Benny Don joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged August 23, 1971. Benny Don worked for Rock Island Railroad, and later worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad which is now the Union Pacific Railroad where he retired in 2008.

Benny Don married Brenda Reed February 15, 1986, to this union two children were born.

Benny Don is survived by his wife Brenda Robinson, two sons: Tony Robinson, Little Rock, AR, Justin Nikolas Robinson and one daughter Jennifer Nicole Robinson both of the home. Three brothers: Roscoe Thomas Sanders, Alfred Charles Sanders and Eddie Lawrence Sanders. Four Sisters: Veda L. Maxwell, Patricia Gail Sanders, Gaye E. Sanders, Kaye E. Sanders Coleman (Charles), all of the surrounding Little Rock, AR area. Three half-sisters: Shirley Robinson Meeks, Verline Robinson both of North Little Rock AR, Irma Robinson Gray of Kansas City, MO. Two Aunts: Loretta Hodge of North Little Rock AR, Gwendolyn Gray of Ashtabula, OH, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a huge church family.
