Bert Russell Francis

Bert Russell Francis, son of Bert and Amy(Wood) Francis, born January 7, 1935 and passed peacefully at home on February 23, 2025. Bert has always been a fun, loving man. He spent his childhood in Versailles, Missouri, and graduated from Versailles High School with the Class of 1953. Bert had a beautiful singing voice and was active in choir.

Bert married Margaret(Liz) Mathews, the love of his life of 69 years, October 23,1955.This union was blessed with two sons, Steven Michael and Kevin Russell. He worked at Trans World Airlines(TWA) in Kansas City, Missouri for 37 years. In 1965, he relocated his family to Saudi Arabia for his job. They returned in 1968 to Gladstone, Missouri.

Bert leaves his wife, Margaret (Liz); his son, Kevin(Phyllis), and daughter-in-law, Teresa; his three grandchildren, Dustin, Lauren(Michael) and Kyle(Meredith); his three great-granddaughters, Brayleigh, Caroline and Elsie; and two nieces, Jackie(Jim) Witte, and Debbie(Desmond) Peters.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Bert and Amy; son, Steven Michael; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Thelma; and sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Jack Robinson.
