Bertha Ann Hutson

Bertha “Ann” Hutson (Moffett), 79, died peacefully on August 4, 2021. Bertha was born February 25, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Wilson D. Moffett and Gertrude A. Stephenson. She graduated from East High School in 1960. Bertha married David J. Hutson in 1961. Bertha loved traveling, shopping, collecting antiques, and gathering with friends. Bertha volunteered her time working election polls.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David J. Hutson, Kansas City, MO; parents, Wilson D. Moffett and Gertrude A. Stephenson Moffett, Kansas City, MO; grandson, Derek A. Lacy, Jacksonville FL.

Bertha is survived by her daughter, Jerrilyn Barnes, Kansas City, MO; sister, Thelma Simpson, Leawood KS; brother, Thomas (Rosalie) Moffett, Lawson MO; brother, Wilson Moffett Jr., Elliott IA; 3 grandchildren, Jason, Brittani, Chelsea; 3 great-grandchildren, Connor, Allison, Adelaide; numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Bertha will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bertha’s life.
