
Betty Jeanne Marshall, 92, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 19, 2016 in her apartment at the Garden’s of Barry Road. Betty was born in Brookfield, Missouri January 1, 1924. Betty had one sister, Donnie Naylor. Survivors include son, Gerry Marshall; his wife, Margaret; daughter, Linda Aikin; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Betty was born and raised in Brookfield, Missouri and was married to Mike Marshall in Centerville, Iowa. She worked for Monteil Grocery Store in Kansas City North for 10 years and for 35 years she worked at North Hills Bank, the National Bank, Boatman’s Bank, and the Bank of America. She did bookkeeping for her husband’s Skelly Station for 10 years and then continued bookkeeping for Skelly Incorporated. Her last job was at H&R Block. After retiring Betty kept active and involved with the OATES Group in Platte County Community Center. She volunteered at the North Kansas City Hospital and spent much time in North Kansas City enjoying her love of walking. She was very active and involved in her husband, Mike’s organizations, helping and caring for many needs. During summer months Betty would spend much time canning and preserving and sharing the wonderful produce from Mike’s garden. Along with this, she had a love for her flowers and yard at home. One of the most important things to Betty was her family. From the time she was married, she enjoyed Mike’s large family and gatherings and she continued to love and be involved with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities as much as she could. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27 at 2 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gardens at Barry Road, 8300 NW Barry Rd., Kansas City, MO 64153.
