He was born on June 10, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Harry J. Jehn & Juliana Ohm. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1957. He attended Marian University in Indianapolis, IN for 2 years. John spent 4 years in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. John was a Knights of Columbus Third Degree Life Honorary member. He owned Big John’s Market and later became a 7-Eleven Franchisee. His Super-7 store was at English & Emerson in Indianapolis. John was a prayer warrior who prayed robbers out of his store, and at a bank when he walked in during a bank robbery. John & “Blessings” were synonymous. He was also Treasurer of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship – Indianapolis Chapter. He attended St. Simon Catholic Church before attending Northview Christian Life Church in Carmel, IN. John & family attended a “Charismatic Renewal in the Christian Churches” conference in Kansas City in July of 1977. After moving to Gladstone, MO in January 2000, he attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and continued his journey of praying for pastors and anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Julie (Jeff) Beach; and grandson, David Beach of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Louis (Judith) Jehn of Carmel, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Jehn & Juliana Ohm and his sister, Mary Janet Jehn.
