

Bonnie Virginia Blackburn, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri went home peacefully on January 26, 2018. Bonnie was born on July 24, 1936 in Tecumseh, Missouri to Thurlo William and Lorene Alaska Blackburn (Luna). She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1955. After graduating, Bonnie began working for AT&T and continued there for 33 years; retiring in 1989. Bonnie was a devoted daughter who was passionate about caring for her parents and spoiling her brother and nieces. She was a true friend and enjoyed much travel with her lifelong girlfriends. Above all she dedicated her life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She served in the roll as a teen teacher at her home congregation and led an exemplary life sharing the truth along her journey, furthering The Kingdom.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother and daddy and her beloved brother, Billy, and great nephew Kolbe.
Bonnie is survived by three nieces and their husbands; Gina and Roger Norris, Nini and Chuck Dungan, Tiffany and Marc Page, and Sister-in-Law Anna-Jean Blackburn. She also leaves behind three great nephews, four great nieces, four great-great nephews, and eight great-great nieces.
A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, Saturday, February 3rd from 1-2 pm, with funeral service following at 2 pm. If you are honoring Bonnie with an arrangement the family requests her favorite color lavender, in turn, flowers will be donated to a hospice facility after services as encouragement for hospice patients.
