Brenda Joyce Jenkins, of Gladstone, MO, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away January 10, 2017. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Brenda was born at her grandparents home on January 14, 1940 in Harlem, Missouri, to John Howard and Betty Lou Yingling. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1958 and attended college. She married Dallas Ross Jenkins on June 12, 1964 and had two sons, Brad and Brian. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and found no greater calling or joy than to be a tireless advocate for her family, always eager to give her love, support, care and kindness. Brenda worked at AT&T, before she had children, and quickly moved up the ranks, but gladly put her career aside to stay at home and raise her two boys, along with her husband, Dallas. In addition to being a tireless homemaker, she also helped on the family farm while the boys were in school. When the boys moved out of the home, she took on whatever jobs she could, from secretary to administrative assistant, and later in life as a flower arranger for her local grocery store. When her boys had children of their own, she happily transitioned to being a proud and doting grand-mother to her 7 grandchildren and found it a tremendous joy to help care for and spend time with them. Continuing a strong tradition in her family, Brenda had a deep love and appreciation of music and was a talented pianist who, for much of her life, would often play at family gatherings and in her church choir. She leaves a tremendous legacy of unconditional love, selflessness and kindness that will forever imprint on and impact her family. The family would like to thank all of her dear friends throughout her life that helped.
