

Bruce K. Hughes, 72, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully June 25, 2018. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Dwight Hughes and Evaline Walker, he was the oldest of three siblings. Bruce was most recently a security officer for North Kansas City Bureau of Investigation for 25 years and also worked at various places such as Rainbow Bread Company, Dolly Madison, and was also a reserve officer for the St. Joseph Police Department. He enjoyed collecting diecast metal cars and doing yardwork.
Bruce is preceded in death by both his parents and his sister Shirley Hughes.
Bruce leaves behind close friend of 22 years Jeanette Vandendaele, his brother David Hughes, his daughter Bobbie Jo Sissel, his son Bryon K. Hughes; five grandchildren Tasha Howell, Gregory K. Hughes, Cody John Hughes, Aaron Hughes, Ryan Hughes; three great grandchildren Kira McKown, Jesse Hill, Anarah Howell; and his faithful canine companion Huckleberry.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 28 starting at 2 pm at Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr. Kansas City, MO 64156.
