Charles "Charlie" W. Ball

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dena Ball; his brother, Dennis Ball (Becky); his children, Chuck Ball (Jennifer), Angela Barnes, and Crystal Whorton (Damon); 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marian Ball, and his sister, Trish.

Charlie was a beloved husband, father, Papa, and great-Papa whose life was defined by hard work, loyalty, laughter, and, above all, his love for his family—especially his grandbabies.

He always looked forward to the annual Arkansas family reunions, where spending time with cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family meant so much to him. He also loved vacationing with Dena and their group of friends, creating memories together on some amazing trips.

Charlie dedicated 40 years of his life to Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri, where he worked until his retirement. He was also a proud Shriner and Mason.

If you knew Charlie, you knew his love for the Kansas City Chiefs. When the Chiefs were playing, you could find him in front of a TV, cheering them on—or sometimes even yelling, depending on how the season was going! And if he wasn’t watching from home, you could find him at the stadium, where he proudly held season tickets for 33 years. Being a Chiefs fan wasn’t just something he enjoyed; it was a part of who he was.

Known for his infectious smile and quick wit, Charlie had a way of making people smile and bringing laughter into a room. Some might have described him as quiet and soft-spoken, but he had a personality all his own. Those who knew him will forever remember his unmistakable presence and the special place he held in their lives.

“His greatest legacy will not be measured in years worked or miles traveled, but in the love he gave, the memories he created, and the family who will carry him in their hearts forever.”

A Celebration of Life will be held during the Chiefs game on November 8th from 11:30am-5pm at the American Legion Post 58 at 2607 State Rt 92, Smithville MO 64089.
