Charles was born on April 28, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Alden Harwell Peters and Eva May Cain. He served in the Army from 1946 until 1949, when he married Carolyn Sunshine Hobbs. Charles worked and retired from Graves Truck line.
Charles and Carolyn had four children: Michael Edward, Eddie Lee, Joyce Elaine and Connie Jean. His children remember him as a hardworking, ornery red head who liked to hunt and fish and listen to Patsy Cline, George Jones and Ray Charles, among others. He was also an avid dog lover of his fur baby, Lucky. He dearly loved all of his 7 grandchildren: Tina Barnes, Tracy Dyer, Tim Buchanan, Travis Peters, Brandi Reinhardt, Eddie Lee Peters, Jr. (Pete) and Ashli Lykins; and his nine great grandchildren: Dillon Deck, Christina Walsh, Keevan Hurshey, Dawson Goodman, Tatum Buchanan, Sebastian Buchanan, Laila Reinhardt, Haley Peters and Kaylee Peters.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, and sons, Michael and Eddie Lee. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Buchanan and Connie Shuler, and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
