Chris was born June 1, 1985 in Overland Park, Kansas to Phyllis and Doug Axon. He grew up in Lee's Summit, MO and graduated from Lee’s Summit North High School in 2003, and attended Longview Community College and UMKC.
Chris loved animals especially his dogs Indiana, Kobe, and Leroy the cat. He enjoyed playing baseball, swimming, fishing, and playing video games. He was a loyal Royals and Chiefs fan and never missed a televised game. He played baseball for Lee’s Summit Park and Rec. Playing many different positions, but pitching was his favorite. He also liked to play poker and Fantasy football. Chris liked to travel and loved the beach, Colorado and Lake Powell. He enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his Grandparents – fishing, boating and playing on the big inner tube. And, he enjoyed playing golf with his Grandpa Barnett.
Chris was preceded in death by grandparents James and Janice Barnett, and Harold and Kathryn Axon. He is survived by his parents Phyllis Barnett, North Kansas City; Doug Axon, Durango, CO; brother Matthew (Danielle); and nephew John, Pittsburgh, PA. Three aunts: Christie (Joe) Norton, Kansas City, MO; Gwen Craig, Cameron, MO; Kathy Axon Timbrook, Lee’s Summit, MO; one uncle: Steve (Ginny) Axon, Denver, CO; and niece Kyleigh Axon, Blue Springs, MO. Chris loved his cousins and they loved him! Bryan, Dawn, Kara, Mike (Maureen), Christa, Jennifer (Mark) and Melanie (Craig); and had great fun with 2nd cousins – Alix, Claudia, Zach, Jacob, Sam, Isabella, Luke, Kinsey (Michael), Eli, Asher, Aaron, Samantha, Alexis, Matt, and Ryan. And 3rd cousins Presleigh and Rhett. Chris had many wonderful friends through the years, but his best bud (since they were 2) was Trent Donnelly.
