

He was born on September 18, 1928 to Marion and Clarence Lowery Sr. Clarence was the oldest of five siblings. He grew up on a farm in Hueytown, Alabama. He was captain of the football team and basketball team. He also played baseball in both high school and college.
Clarence graduated from Auburn University with a degree in agriculture. He then proudly served his country in the Air Force. He flew the F86 over both Korea and Japan.
During his military service, he married Geraldine Crumpton. They raised their four children at Weatherby Lake. They loved their children and children’s families unconditionally, providing love and support in so many ways. Dinners and holidays at their home were always special. Following his military service, he flew for Trans World Airlines for 31 years. He felt fortunate to have a career he loved so much.
He enjoyed a lifetime of many interests ranging from building and flying airplanes, to playing a variety of sports, including golf, tennis, skiing, boating and finally he started bowling at 93. He loved traveling with friends and family to Panama City Beach, the lake, Colorado and many countries in Europe.
Beyond his career, Clarence was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandaddy, brother and friend, whose greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. He led by his Christian example, unwavering faith and humility.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Geraldine Lowery of 69 years, three of his children, Curt Lowery (Mary), Kay Jackson (Ken) and Carole Bloomer (Lester), (Kevin’s wife Julie); twelve grandchildren, Sara, Kathryn, Alex, Caroline, David, Eric, Emma, Sally, Jane, Molly, Jacob and Jessie, and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Clarence Lowery; his son, Kevin Lowery and his four siblings, Hazel McMurry, Angus Lowery, Kathryn Cole and Charles Lowery.
A service honoring Clarence’s life will be held at Parkville Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at 1:00. A graveside service will follow for the family with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Parkville Presbyterian Camp Scholarship Fund.
