Born in Kansas City, Missouri to Glenda Wooten-Lewis and the late James Wooten, Dana was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, grandson, brother, and friend.
A graduate of Central High School, Dana built a successful career in hospitality and facility management as Chief Engineer, where his dedication, charm, and humor left a lasting impression. He was known for his love of family, his vibrant personality, and his ability to bring joy to every gathering.
Dana is survived by his loving wife, LaCretia (Hawkins) Wooten; beloved children, Kenyon Dana Wooten, Tarik Gill, Kalil Gill, and Kyla Dana Patrease Wooten; parents, Glenda Wooten-Lewis and Kenneth “Chip” Lewis; granddaughters, Jaylani and Malani Wooten; grandmother, Mattie “Big Mama” Green; siblings, Tamara Griffin, James Wooten, Alisha (Kenneth) Moore, and La-Tammala Green; father-and-mother-in-law, David and Lydia Ramirez; brothers-in-law, Michael Walton, David Ramirez, Jr., and John Hawkins; a host of cherished nephews and nieces and other dearly loved extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Wooten, and grandfather Calvin Green.
Dana’s passions included rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, acquiring luxury automobiles, and hosting unforgettable celebrations. Whether behind the grill or on the dance floor, he was the heartbeat of every event.
A visitation will be held at 12 PM followed by a funeral service at 2 PM on Saturday, November 16, 2025, at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO. A repass will follow at 4 PM at F.R.A.H. Hall, 1500 NE Englewood Rd, Gladstone, MO.
Dana’s joyful spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
