Dan was the son of the late Rolla and Gladys Dodson. He was born April 12, 1932 in Kansas City. Dan joined the U.S. Army and served for two years in Germany. Dan was very proud of his service and loved his country.
Dan married Betty J Stewart Tallant in 1957. They raised two children together, Lucinda Dodson Harmon and David Tallant.
Dan worked for Richards-Conover Steel Company for approximately 40 years, displaying a wonderful knack for sales. He was an avid golfer. Dan was a member of the Jewell Chapter of the Masonic Lodge in Liberty and served as a Master Mason for many years. He also loved John Wayne and spent many afternoons watching cowboy movies (when he wasn’t working in his yard). Dan was devoted to his church, Victory Free Will Baptist Church, where he had been a member for 48 years. He taught the same Sunday School class for 35 years.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, his 8 brothers and sisters, including his twin brother, Donald Dodson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lucinda Harmon.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J Dodson, his step-son, David Tallant (Carol), three grandchildren: Daniel Tallant (Susan), Katrina Bernard (Joe) and Anita Harmon. He had three great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
