Darla K. Milice was born Oct. 27, 1946 in Memphis, TN to Robert L. and Kathleen H. Taylor. She was the first of 3 daughters and never let us forget she was the “Big D” (perfect child) to Sharon (wild child) and Leisa (the brat).
In Nov. of 1972 she married John A. Milice “Jack”.
Jack was her first official date in high school. They thought they just weren’t right for each other so Jack introduced Darla to his best friend, Carey Flanigan. She and Carey married in July of 1964. As fate would have it Carey passed away of cancer July 17, 1968. Darla continued making the best of life. She enjoyed the night life with friends from work and school. She met Charles Corns and made plans to marry. God had another plan as Charles was a victim of a car accident 1 week prior to their wedding. But God is good and brought Jack back into her life after his discharge from the Army.
They were married 40 years before Jack’s death in May of 2013 due to pulmonary fibrosis. Together they enjoyed movies, music, home improvements, and going to the boat with neighbors. Jack was an avid golfer with Darla riding in the golf cart.
Darla was employed with the Gas Service CO. for 30 years. She enjoyed her retirement, sleeping late, going to lunch, shopping, and spending time at home with Jack.
Darla was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved our family parties as long as they were not at her house. She loved dancing to songs by Elvis and teaching all the little ones to shake it to Blurred Lines. She loved the color purple, margaritas, shiny glittery things, vacuuming lines, Elvis, and her Lincoln Mark VIII cause she could “get on it!” She will be missed more than she could ever imagine.
Darla was blessed with her long standing neighbors and lunch buddies, Myrna Garzee, Joyce Barnes, Doris Temple, and Fence friend, Jeannie.
Grace her sweet little poodle was her constant companion. She was never far from sight,
Darla and Jack are now together forever and at peace. They will be laid to rest together.
Darla fell asleep in death the afternoon of July 19, 2018. She joins her parents; her husband, John Milice; sister and brother-law, Sharon and Frank Enna; and great niece, Lakelynn.
Her memories are safe and cherished by sister, Leisa (Dean) Anderson; nieces and nephews, Tony (Imelda) Macken, Rodney Anderson, Timmy (Dee) Macken, Renee Anderson, Jeremy (Chastity) Seek, Jennifer (Clint) Lamb, RT (Becca) Enna, and Luke (Susie) Enna; great nieces and nephews, Anthony, Danielle, Madison, Max, Megan, Marcus, Marie, Bree, Lanie, Emma, Tristian, Anastasia, Frank, Rylen, Gracelynn, and Carter.
Special in our hearts Michael Macken and Joe Garza.
