David "Dave" Busch, 77, died peacefully at home on October 22, 2026. David was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania to Elmer and Virginia. The family moved to Meadville, Pennsylvania, where David lived until graduation from high school. He attended Purdue University, graduating in 1971 with an Engineering degree.
His first job was with Colgate Palmolive as an Industrial Engineer, working plants in Clarksville, IN, Berkeley, CA, and eventually Kansas City, MO. His second career was a CNC machinist.
David was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and target/skeet shooting. Most recently, David was active in conservation and land management improvement. He appreciated nature and worked toward best practices. David was "old school" choosing to work with his hands. In reviewing solutions and options, David worked with pencil/paper and a slide rule.
David joined hands, hearts, and lives with Julie Buckley on December 5th, 1990.
David was active in his church, enjoying Men's Bible Study at the Northland Cathedral. He was recognized as the best "Donut Deliverer."
David is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Virginia of Ocald, Florida and Meadville, Pennsylvania.
David is survived by Julie, of the home, his daughter Angela (Dusty) Overland Park, KS, his son Kyle (Sarah) Olathe, KS, two grandsons, Preston and Holden, and granddaughter, Cora, Overland Park. Sisters Karen Henderson (Philip) Youngstown, OH, Gwen Latessa (Phil) Poland, OH, and brother Jeff Busch (Laura) Frederick, MO.
Cora would like to thank Grandpa for all the treats he gave every holiday. Preston and Holden remember grandpa playing catch in the backyard, making funny faces and his slow motion actions. Son-in-law Dusty remembers sharing the classic car shows with the biscuit and gravy breakfast. Angela appreciates the excursions where David would have her direct him on how to get home, resulting in her excellent sense of direction.
With his children and grandchildren, David never missed an opportunity for a treat/ice cream.
