Dawn graduated Winnetonka High School in 1983. She spent 15 + years as a Paramedic Firefighter in Ferguson, MO. She lived at the Lake of the Ozarks for a while where her son and daughter grew up. Dawn moved to Prior Lake, MN in 2014, and married her husband Mitchell in 2015. They moved back to Kansas City in 2016.
Dawn was a caring wife and daughter, a loving mother and incredible friend. Dawn was passionate about horses; she owned and rode them in competitions. She also loved the beach and enjoyed her trips to Florida. Dawn was a fighter. When she learned that she had breast cancer in 2013, she fought it. For a few years, she lived cancer free, her cancer spread and in 2015 it was in her bones. She fought for EVERY DAY she had. She will be missed!
Dawn was preceded in death by her brother in law Brian McCoy, St. Charles, MO.
Dawn is survived by her father, George Fredrick Thomas, Lebanon, MO; mother Marilyn Madley, St. Peters, MO; husband Mitchell Berry, Kansas City, MO; daughter Cassie Crews, Kansas City, MO; son Jesse Brand (Mitchell Brand), Denver, CO; sister Carol Lewis and brother in law Jim Lewis, St. Charles, MO; sister Shelly McCoy, St. Charles, MO; brother Scott Thomas (Rachinda) Overland Park, MO; and grandchildren Jason and Kylie Crews.
