Mrs. Deborah Lynn "Deb" (Butt) Tyler, 66, passed peacefully on July 18, 2021. Deb was born January 2, 1955 at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to Alfred E. Butt Sr. and Sue C. Nunley Butt. She was a 1973 graduate of Winnetonka High School, and in 1974, she began a 46 year marriage of love and devotion to Daniel J. Tyler. Starting in high school, Deb began a series of jobs including TG&Y and Southwestern Bell Telephone. In 1979, Deb and Dan welcomed their only child, Kathryn. In 1999 Deb returned to the workplace to serve the public once again, this time as an optician, remaining until her retirement in 2012.
Deb was an avid reader and loved fishing, cooking, quilting, sewing, and traveling. She loved spending time and sharing her kitchen creations with loved ones. She was feisty, opinionated, selfless to a fault, a devoted wife, daughter and mother. She was especially grateful to the scores of caregivers at North Kansas City Hospital and Hospice House who helped her maintain a fulfilling life for decades.
Deb was preceded in death by brother Thomas L. Butt and her parents, Alfred E. Butt Sr. and Sue C. Nunley Butt.
Deb is survived by her husband Daniel, daughter Kathryn, brothers Alfred E. Butt Jr., Timmy D. Butt, Jimmy D. Butt, and sister Rebecca S. Standley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
