Diana was born on July 29, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois to Delbert and Lois Jean (Molchin) Balagna. Diana graduated from North Kansas City high school with the Class of 1962 where she was very involved with dance.
That love for dance gave her an opportunity to open and operate Liberty Dance Studio and mentor many students in the art of dance, pompom, and baton.
Diana was drawn to a life of law enforcement and continuing to help the community. She joined the Pleasant Valley Police Department where she rose through the ranks where she would eventually retire as the Police Chief.
She took a lot of pride of letting everyone know that she was the Police Chief even long after retirement.
Dance was her lifelong passion and long after the studio was closed she would still go and watch recitals that family were in or taught as well as staying in contact with former students and attending and supporting their efforts to teach.
Diana was preceded in death her parents, her son, Kevin; and her brothers, Dennis, Delbert, Mark, Rick, and Fred.
Survivors include her son, Michael (Stacy) Naas; her daughter, Toni Goodman; her sisters, Beverly (Wayne) Beekman, Debbie (Stephen) Hackman, and Brenda (James) Gallant; her brothers, Jerry, Larry (Shelia), Jeff (Susan), James (Julie), Randy (Jennifer) Balagna; grandchildren, Brandi Roath, Damien, Wesley, and Cayden Goodman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will miss her.
