Mrs. Dolly A. Bugbee-Nelson-Dibben, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends. Dolly was born on December 7, 1936 in Bennet Springs, Missouri, to Anna Lee and Edwin Forest Dibben. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1955. She was the youngest daughter of seven siblings.
The following year, she married Marvin Lyle Nelson and they welcomed Vicky in 1956 and, a few years later, Diane in 1959. They later separated and Dolly married Earl Bugbee in 1969. They welcomed their son Dansford "Dan" Bugbee into the world in 1970.
Dolly was bitten by the traveling bug early in life, rarely settling down in one spot for very long until much later. After retiring from Bendix-King, she moved in with her eldest sisters and they "tootled" all around the United States whenever they could, often seeing relatives and friends on the West Coast, in Michigan, or just seeing wherever the roads would take them. She loved camping on her lots at Lake Chaparral with her family, spending the days on the water, fishing and swimming, and nights playing card games or Yahtzee.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; her brothers, Venard and Voris; her sisters, Opal, Violet, and Doris; both husbands, Marvin and Earl; her son-in-law, Mark; grandchildren, Alanna and Erin; as well as many other family members.
Dolly is survived by her brothers, John and Bud; her 3 children, Vicky, Diane (Mike) and their children, Tom (Christina) and Caleb, and Dan (Brian) and their children Kamron and Channing. She had great-grandchildren whom she adored and spoiled any chance she got.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation, or St. Croix Hospice.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for their gentle efforts and tireless dedication in helping Dolly's transition be as painless and peaceful as possible.
