Donald Ross Laningham, 82, of Kansas City, MO passed peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family on July 2, 2014. He was born March 6, 1932 in Garden City, MO. Donald was an iron worker journeyman for Iron Workers Local #10. He was an active member of the Avondale United Methodist Church for 50 years. Proceeded in death by his parents Edith and Robert Laningham; brothers Edward and Ernest Laningham. Survivors include his wife of 60 years J. Ruth Lambert Laningham; three daughters Maj. Sharon Laningham (Sterling Silver), Carol Stewart (Bill), Dr. Susan Laningham (Drake Chance); five grandchildren Aaron Stewart (Heather), Emily Stewart, Lillian Cain, Grace Cain, and Cecilia Cain. Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm Sunday July 6, 2014 at the Avondale United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers family suggest memorial gifts be made to Avondale United Methodist Church or NorthCare Hospice. Services under the direction of White Chapel Funeral Home.
