She was born to Howard and Jessie Brooks in Dearborn, Michigan, on September 4, 1936. She was the only daughter with two brothers, George Brooks, deceased, and Leslie Brooks of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Donna graduated from Garden City High School in 1954.
On December 20, 1955, in Garden City, Michigan, almost 65 years ago, she married her life-long sweetheart, Kenneth Gerald Wohlgemuth. Together, they enjoyed taking cruises with friends, going out to eat, and participating in church activities. However, her favorite activities involved her family from Sunday dinners after church to shopping with daughters and grandchildren, and weekly chats with them. She was a loving pastor’s wife, a caring chiropractic assistant, and an accountant until she retired.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; and children, Cynthia (Scott), Denise (Greg), Kevin (Joyce); and brother, Leslie Brooks (Lynn). She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Ricky (Fran). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family is holding a private Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 officiated by Rev. Pam Pratt.
For over a year, her family was expanded to include the extraordinary people caring for her at Heritage Village of Gladstone. Her family is also thankful for the kind caretakers with Compassionate Care Hospice-Amedisys. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Heritage Village of Gladstone, by check, with Donna’s name in the memo line (Heritage Village, 3000 NE 64th St., Kansas City, MO 64119).
