Dora Lucinda Parker

Dora was born on September 25, 1934 in Independence, Missouri to Thomas and Ora Fitzwater. Dora married Clyde Dale Parker in 1951. Dale and Dora made their home in Independence, where they welcomed their first son, Larry. After moving to North Kansas City they welcomed their second son, Jeffrey. After Dale’s retirement from the Postal Service, they made a home in Gladstone, Missouri. Dora became an Avon Representative in the 1980’s and won awards for the Avon President’s Club many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ora; her husband Dale; sisters, Mary Cox, Edna Carlton, Myrtle Smith; and brothers, Leroy, Marvin, and Leonard.

Dora is survived by her sons, Larry (Carla) and Jeffrey (Brenda) and granddaughters Erica Morales (Erik) and Lydia Senate (Michael) all of the Kansas City area. She is also survived by sisters-in-laws Frances Barger and Myrtle Hergemueller; brother-in-law, Charles Parker; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday, March 26 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Washington Cemetery, 615 S Brookside, Independence, MO 64053, please enter through Truman Road. In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution in Dora’s honor to Ascend Hospice or KC Pet Project.

The family would like to thank The Care Patrol, Elliot Place, Crown Care and Ascend Hospice for their help and dedication through the last year of Dora’s life.
