

Edwin Denzil Scott came into this world September 15, 1946 - a miracle baby loaned by God to Orie Edwin and Kathryn Maxine Scott of Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed a blessed childhood, going to church, playing baseball, experiencing all genre of music, and was accomplished playing trombone, piano, and organ. He played in Youth Symphony and numerous other music groups around the city.
Eddie graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1964, Carleton College in 1968, and Michigan Law School in 1971. He couldn’t wait to get to New York City to begin his law career in a Wall Street law firm. Eddie lived and thrived in New York City for over 50 years. He was serving as Chief Council for KPMG when he retired. He returned to Kansas City in 2022 to be with family.
Eddie’s passion was traveling the world, which he accomplished through his many domestic and international work projects and personal explorations. He found his way to Europe, Asia, Australia, as well to all points of the USA. Eddie was a proud AA Recovering Alcoholic for 24 years.
Edwin is survived by his sister, Lana Larkin of Overland Park, Kansas; niece, Kathryn Elizabeth Friddle and husband Dr. Cody Friddle; great nieces and nephews, Elisabeth Grace Friddle, Samuel Cody Friddle, Jack Larkin Friddle, Ruth Kathryn Friddle of Alexandria, Virginia, and many other loving cousins.
Eddie will be remembered for his love and support of his family and friends, and his strong love of God.
A committal service for Edwin will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in the White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119.
