Elsie was born on August 20,1929 in St. Joseph, Missouri to George and Elsie Cutter. She was a 1947 graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph and married Jerry Dale Misenhelter on March 28, 1948. They moved to Kansas City soon after and were married for 55 years before Jerry’s passing on March 7th, 2004. Elsie was employed at Music Mart in the early 1950’s, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mother and homemaker to her three sons. Elsie always made sure their baseball uniforms were clean, school lunches were packed and had dinner on the table every night. Elsie had several hobbies including reading, bird watching, listening to Dean Martin and collecting Santa Claus dolls. She always enjoyed the company of her poodles and cats. Elsie was a member of Christ Church Unity for many years.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her parents George and Elsie Cutter, brothers George Cutter, Jack Cutter and his wife Evelyn, newborn brother Phillip and daughters-in-law Jeanne Misenhelter and Debbie Misenhelter. She is survived by her three sons and their families; Mark Misenhelter (Jeanne-deceased) and granddaughters, Michelle and Jodi; Terry Misenhelter (Debbie-deceased) and grandchildren Laura (Bryan and Savannah) and Todd; Ken Misenhelter (Giovanna) and granddaughter Gianna (Adam). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and dear friends Bonnie Miller and Geri Thonen. She is loved and will be greatly missed.
Elsie’s family offers their sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City and Linden Woods Village for their wonderful care of Elsie during the end of her journey.
