Emmette Braley Jr.

Emmette was born on December 14, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri to Emmette Braley and Mildred Braley. He graduated from East High School in 1961 and attended Metropolitan Community College. Emmette married Mary Anne Beatie, his lifelong soulmate in 1961. Emmette and Mary Anne celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Emmette spent his entire life living in the Kansas City area with the final 43 years of his life in their current residence in Kansas City North. Emmette and Mary Anne have two children, Richard and Kimberly. Emmette loved his family very much and always put the needs of his family before his own. He was a dedicated employee serving long term employment in the metal supply industry and retired from T&W Steel. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Edison Credit Union for 15 years. Emmette was a great father and lived a long and happy life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Emmette is preceded in death by his parents, Emmette and Mildred Braley, and his sister, Suzanna White.

Emmette is survived by his wife Mary Anne Braley, of the home, children Richard Braley (Janet), of Peculiar, Missouri, and Kimberly Taylor (Curtis), of Kansas City North, siblings Beverly Beard (Scott) and Jeff Braley, grandchildren Bradley Taylor (Lauren), Nash Braley, Lindsey Taylor, Karson Braley, his dog Ricky and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.

The family would like to thank everyone who was a part of Emmette’s life for their contributions throughout his life and his medical caregivers for helping to treat him to allow him to live as long as he did.

A celebration of life for Emmette will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119, followed by a celebration of life ceremony from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM.
