Faye Ann was a proud 1959 graduate of Barboursville High School. In 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Edward Frank "Bob" Roberts. The couple soon moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where Faye Ann balanced supporting Bob’s career with the raising their two children, Edward Frank Roberts III and Angela Barr ne Roberts. A patient and loving mother, she was a bedrock of encouragement for her children and grandchildren alike.
Faye Ann was accomplished at sewing all kinds, though her true passion was crocheting. She shared her talent generously, gifting hundreds of treasured handmade baby blankets to friends and family over the years. Her commitment to service was evident through her work with the Assistance League of Kansas City (ALKC) and International Questers. A member of Second Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri, for over 40 years, she also dedicated her time to the Hodge Park Living History Museum with her Quester group. There, she combined her love of history and community by writing grants, organizing memorabilia and reenacting pioneer-era medical visits for local students.
She was friend to all and stranger to no one. She was the first to tell you she was "Just a hillbilly from West Virginia."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Bob, infant son Andrew, parents Herbert and Vaughneda Lawson.
Fay Ann is survived by her son, E.F. Roberts; daughter Angela (Chris) Barr; grandchildren Allison and Taylor; brother Jerry Lawson; and sister Nancy Kimberling of West Virginia.
The family suggests donations in her memory to Ascend Health Hospice, International Questers or ALKC (Boost KC). Heartfelt thanks go to Sage Grove Memory Care, Ascend Health Hospice and Empower Me Occupational Therapy for their exceptional kindness and care.
