

Frank was born on November 13, 1932, in Johnson County, Missouri to Clyde Temple and Marion Valera (Freeland) Corwin. Frank, the youngest of nine children, was proud of his family and developed strong values and principles while working hard on the farm to help his family make ends meet. A devout Presbyterian, Frank and his family attended church regularly, a tradition he carried with him all his life.
He received his High School diploma from Chilhowee High School in 1951 with hopes to continue his family farm, but the flood of 1951 destroyed his crop and changed his ambition. He borrowed $50 from his father and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to seek new opportunities.
Frank found employment at The Gas Service Company, a career which began while working in the Storeroom, and culminated after 40 years as a well-respected Superintendent. Shortly after joining the Gas Company, Frank was drafted, serving his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954.
On April 16, 1955, Frank married the love of his life Shirlene Elizabeth Cloe. They raised two sons Jim and Ken. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. There was nothing more important than his family.
Frank believed strongly in volunteer work and was active in his church serving as a Deacon and Ruling Elder. He volunteered at The Clay County Clothes Closet for 20 years and would give up his vacation time to attend summer camp with his sons at The H.Roe Bartle Boy Scout Reservation. Frank was an honorary warrior in the tribe of Mic O Say (Flowing Blue Flame) his legacy with scouting lives on with his sons and grandchildren achieving 4 Eagle Scouts, 2 Silver Beavers and a Girl Scout Gold Award.
Frank strongly valued education and encouraged its pursuits, he was proud of his family’s educational achievements which include two Juris Doctorates, two MBA’s, two MA’s and four BS/BA’s.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Marion, siblings Theodore, Lois, Max, Zona, Elda, Flora Margaret and Clyde T.
Frank is survived by his wife Shirlene Corwin, sons Jim Corwin and Ken Corwin (Sandy). Grand children, Chris Corwin (Kelli), Katherine Corwin Long (Matt), Nicole Corwin, Statten Corwin, greatgrandchildren Caroline, Payton, Penny, Catherine, Poppy.
A Visitation for Frank will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a Funeral Service officiated by Associate Pastor Buzzy LeCluyse beginning at 2:00 PM. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will immediately follow, all at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
