George was born in Arcadia, Greece in 1931 to Konstantine and Stravoula Fotopoulos, where he attended school, survived WWII and the communist revolution before immigrating to Wichita, Kansas in 1951. George obtained his United States citizenship and served for the United States Army in the Korean War. After the war, George returned to Kansas City, Missouri where he met his wife of 62 years, Joanne Fotopulos. George worked as a computer operator for many years. Beyond work, George was extremely involved in many aspects of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. George was a devout Christian and always enjoyed attending church and being around his community. George will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
George was preceded in death by his wife Joanne Fotopulos, parents Konstantine and Stravoula, and brother James Fotopulos. He is survived by his son, Dean and Missy Fotopulos and grandson, Andrew and Tapasyaa Fotopulos and also, by his sisters Maria Antonopoulos, Lambrini Nikitopoulos, and Panagiota Arfanis, as well as many cousins, nephews, nieces, and godchildren.
Visitation and Funeral will be at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church starting at 10am on Oct. 23rd, 2025. Donations to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church would be greatly appreciated.
