Harold was born February 11, 1936 in Ava, Missouri to Charley and Georgia Collins. Harold married the love of his life, Mabel, on November 21, 1953. They began their life in Siloam Springs, Missouri and eventually settled in St. Louis, Missouri where they raised their children, “The Three B’s” Bradley, Beverly, and Bonnie. Harold was a master carpenter, later owning and operating an appliance repair store in Kansas City. The couple returned to southern Missouri later in life. They spent their 61 years of marriage watching their children and grandchildren grow up. Harold was passionate about his faith, family, friends, and a DOLLAR!
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mabel “his baby”, Son Bradley Steven Collins, grandson Rusty Clinton, and brothers Alva Ray, Gerald, and Charles.
Harold is survived by three daughters, Beverly (Eldon) Cox, Bonnie (Calvin) Richards, and Vickie Turner, 8 grandchildren, Metha Cox, Brad (Stephanie) Collins, Heather (Terry) Phillips, Holly “Hone Bone” (Ronnie) Shelton, Jessica (Erik) Hiland, Adam Collins, Billy (Jenna) Qualls, and Deena (Ian) Bayless. 10 Great Grandchildren, Vincent, Allison, Vito, Derek, Avarie, Johnfrank, Bradley, Ella, Reed, and Mia. Sisters, Wilma (John) Pierceall, Lora (Kenny) Light, Mary Lou Collins, and Sandra (Gary) Clinton, many nieces and nephews, including their besties Chad and Sherry.
The family sends a special thanks to his “family” at Apple Ridge Care Center and the exceptional nursing staff, under the care of Dr. Ram Chandra at Lafayette Regional Medical Center.
