Howard Silvers, 79, lost his courageous battle with cancer November 5, 2016. Howard came into the world a big boy on a snowy day January 15, 1937 in Birmingham, MO. Howard was a big man in stature and heart. He loved giving of himself no matter what endeavor. Howard drove a truck for 39 years before retiring. Howard’s passion was being a Shriner, whether it was working the circus, going to parades or transporting children in the van to St. Louis. Howard made this trip 199 times and so wanted one more that he didn’t get to make. Howard gave so much of himself, from his 17 gallons of blood to being there for whomever needed help. He was Most Worshipful Master at the Alpha Lodge in North Kansas City in 1993, the year he and his wife Kathy got married. To all that ever had the pleasure of knowing Howard knew what a great man he was. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Evelyn Silvers, in May 2016, his brother Jerry and former wife, Wilma. Howard is survived by his wife Kathy, brother Duane (Gloria), step-daughters Tina Meek and Melanie Weber, step-son Mike Jones, granddaughter Amanda and Sarah, grandson Zack Weber, niece Kelly and nephews Buddy and Tim Silvers. Masonic Service will be 10:00am, Thursday, November 10, 2016, followed by his funeral service at White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, MO.
