Janet Eischen

Janet was born January 21, 1948 in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Donald M. and Vereena L. (Kayser) McGuire. She graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School in 1966. Janet earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and English from Mt. St. Scholastic College in Atchison, Kansas and her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She married her high school sweet heart, Steven Eischen on October 24, 1970.

Janet was known for her kindness and compassion and always tried to find goodness in people. Family was her main priority and she partnered with Steve to make a loving home for their family. She believed her greatest accomplishment was raising her three children who brought so much joy to her life. She loved seeing and spending time with her grandsons. She always tried to do her best and excelled at whatever she did. Janet believed you make a lot of your own happiness and constantly strived to do so. Janet felt she had so much to be grateful for. She loved her parents and siblings, felt her three children took turns on making her look like a good mother and loved Steven, her husband of 52 years, who made her feel loved. Janet felt she was born lucky.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kathryn; and her brother, Terry.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; her children, Michael (Lori) Eischen, Kathryn (Chris) Reid, and Rob (Laura) Eischen; grandsons, Jacob and Gage Eischen; siblings, Patricia (Joe) Becker, Betty (Kevin) Beckerle, Dan (Susan) McGuire, Sue (Kevin) Dunigan, Tim (Shirley) McGuire, Deacon Don McGuire, Jeff (Ann) McGuire, Jim McGuire, Michael (Teresa) McGuire;; and numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, nephew, and friends who will all miss her deeply.
