

She was born on August 17, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas, to John and Mary Hotujec. Janice graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart, Joseph W. Cindrich, on August 22, 1959. Together, they raised six children and were blessed with eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Janice was a hairdresser and a devoted stay-at-home mother. Her children remember her as a kind, patient, and loving mother who always encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family and friends. A woman of deep faith, Janice was an active and dedicated member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary, her brother Edward, and her sisters Margaret and Loretta.
Janice is survived by her husband, Joseph; her children — Jeffrey (Debra), Janee Rosenthal (Michael), James, Jill Osborn (Terry), Jennifer Anderson (Maurice), and John (Angela); her grandchildren — Joey Hon (Justin), Michael Rosenthal Jr., Nicholas Rosenthal (Monica), Patricia Allen (Thomas), Morgan Corwin (Adam), Jessica Olson (Scott), Megan Burkhart (Cole), Sarah Anderson (Keanu), James, Marianne, and Michael Joseph; and her great-grandchildren — Monroe, Payne, Gemma, Woods, Aubrey, Vincent, Adam, Whitley, Michael, Chloe, Reign, and Rhea.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Janice’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Parish Food Distribution Center at 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, Missouri 64118.
