He was born on April 28, 1958, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Carlton and Doris (Marriott) Barker. Jay graduated from F. L. Schlagle High School in Wyandotte County, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Doris Barker; and one sister, Joyce Yeazel.
Jay is survived by his wife, Carol, of 11 years, of the home; two sons, Jeremy Barker and Joshua Barker; two daughters, Sara Barker and Megan Oberfoell; seven grandchildren, Aaron Michael Barker, Chase Nolan Barker, Athena Maire Cilley, Nathaniel Ethan Barker, David Andrew Barker and Joseph Carlos Barker, Natalie Michelle Neece(Steven); two great grandchildren, Mason Edward Neece and Elowyn Harper Neece.
A visitation for Jay will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the White Chapel Cemetery.
