Jean S Burns (Stippich) 96 died peacefully on July 3, 2020. Jean was born on January 2, 1924 in Emmett, Idaho to James and Pearl Stippich. Jean met her husband in Moscow, Idaho where they both attended the University. Jean received a BS degree from the University of Idaho in 1947. Jean married Robert Arl Burns in Lewiston, Idaho on June 5 1944. Jean loved reading and playing games and was an exceptional bridge player. Jean and Bob lived in Pierce, Deary, Culdesac, Bonners Ferry, Boise, Nampa, and Meridian, all in Idaho. They recently moved to Kansas City, Missouri to be near their children. Jean was an active and dedicated member of the United Methodist Women and P.E.O., holding offices in each over the years. Jean and her husband often volunteered for their various organizations and together they were volunteer ushers at events at the Civic Center in Nampa, Idaho.
Jean is preceded in death by her father, James C Stippich, her mother, Pearl Stippich, her sisters Arlene Grothaus and Maxine Boutilier, and her brother James Stippich.
Jean is survived by her husband, Robert Burns, her son Steve Burns and his wife Joanne of Loch Lloyd, Missouri, her daughter, Kathleen Maupin and her husband Larry of Leavenworth, Kansas, four grandchildren, Jason Maupin and wife Angie of Argyle, Texas, Joshua Maupin and his wife Hiep Huynh of Wichita, Kansas, Megan Burns Malone and her husband Thomas of Kansas City, Missouri and Lauren Burns of Kansas City, Missouri. Jean has four great grandchildren, Jackson Maupin, Drew Maupin, and Brooke Maupin of Argyle, Texas and Leika Maupin of Wichita, Kansas.

The family would like to thank McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff for their dedicated care over the last year.
There will be a private service at North Cross United Methodist Church in Kansas City Missouri.
