John Corca

John was born July 28, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri to Samuel A. and Mary M. (Combs) Corca.

He graduated from Winnetonka HS; Class of 1977 and then went on to MO Western State College.

John joined Children’s Mercy as a Data Analyst enjoying a 27-year career with them before retiring.

He was an avid hunter (deer, goose, and turkey) as well as fishing (he was fondly known to many of his friends as “Turkey John”). Cooking for family was a passion of his and he cherished those times together.

John was preceded in death by his father, Samuel and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Mary; two sisters, Kaye (Corca) Bell and Cathy (Corca) Lawrence; brother-in-law, Brady Lawrence; two nieces, Ashley Bell and Savannah Helms; one nephew, Drew (Elizabeth) Bell, whom they called “Uncle Bub”; a great nephew, Sam; and his beloved cat, Ms. Kitty.
