John Wayne Dobbins, 62, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. He was born on September 2, 1955 in Kansas City North. The son of the late John Wilbur and Barbara Jean (Todd) Dobbins, he was a resident of Gladstone and Kearny Missouri.
John was preceded in death by two grandchildren; Cody and Bethany Irvine and a brother, Dwight Dobbins.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Dobbins and five children; Michelle Clancy and husband Aaron, Mindy Hardwick Yates and husband Ray, Shawntell Gamble and husband Tommy, Theresa “TJ” Moes and husband Matt and John Wayne Dobbins Jr.
John leaves behind grandchildren; Faith Irvine, Matthew Clancy, Hope Hardwick-Riggs and husband Cody, Harley Hardwick, Hannah Hardwick, Tyler Becker, Love Brannlund, Aspen Molthan, Alicia Dunn, Dominic Dunn, Illijah Gamble and Isaiah Gamble. He leaves behind his furry grandchildren too, Zeuss, Archer and Lana. Great grandchildren that survive him are Grace Hardwick-Henry, Gabriella Riggs and Giovanna Riggs as well as brothers, Edward Dobbins and wife Debbie and Arthur D. Dobbins and wife Terry.
John was a 1974 graduate of Oak Park High School in Kansas City North. He served in the United States Air Force as a proud member of the military and was employed with Ashland Chemical for over 40 years.
John enjoyed Royals and Chiefs games, fishing, camping, pranks, Nascar, working on cars, wood working, bon fire’s, and playing pool among many other things.
John will be remembered by his eager hands ready to help whoever, whenever. Hands that could fix anything from a broken down tractor to a broken heart with a single hug. John will also be remembered for his orneriness, “shit eating grin” and the love he had for his kids. He loved introducing people to his children and was very proud of them.
Visitation will be Friday, May 25th from 12-1:00 pm with services to follow at 1:00 pm at White Chapel. Burial of cremated remains to follow in the cemetery.
