

John was a resident of Kansas City, Missouri since 1980 and prior to that he resided in Conneaut, Ohio, where he was born in 1936. John graduated from Rowe High School and attended Ohio University. John enjoyed playing many sports and played baseball during college. John worked as a salesman and technician for Emco Wheaton servicing Canada, Mexico, and the United State of America.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Martha Kantola of Conneaut, Ohio, brothers Kenny Kantola of Riverside, California, and Thomas Kantola of West Springfield, Pennsylvania, sisters Eileen Kantola (Phillips) of Conneaut, Ohio, and Dorris Kantola (Tuttle) of Conneaut, Ohio.
John leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Jean Kantola. He also leaves behind three sons, Jay Kantola and wife Joan of Ashtabula Ohio, Joe Kantola and wife Shirley of Kearney Missouri, and Jim Kantola and wife Kendal of Joplin Missouri; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and brother Bob Kantola of Conneaut, Ohio.
A gathering of friends and family will take place in the Pub Social Room at Primrose Retirement Community (8559 N Line Creek Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64154) on Saturday February 19, 2022 from 2pm-4pm.
