John was born to Earl Worester Stillman and Ethel May (Bonnell) Stillman on November 14th, 1927 on a farm in Weston, Missouri.
John was a fiercely loyal friend who was brutally honest and a true patriot. He has left a permanent mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. John was a US Navy veteran having served in the south Pacific for two years during WWII. John was a trained electronics technician and worked for numerous companies and owned his own business, BJ Electronics, in the 80’s. He was a licensed real estate agent and an all-around handyman, fixing anything, building many things and paying close attention to every detail. John was a 70+ year member of Temple Gate Lodge No. 299, AF&AM, having served as Master of the Lodge in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the Order of DeMolay and was recognized with membership in the Legion of Honor in 1999. John was a 70+ year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW Local No.124. John was a member of Golden Gate Chapter No.58, Order of the Eastern Star and belonged to the order for 43+ years, having served as Worthy Patron for the first time with his wife, Barbara, in 1996.
John is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Dolan) Stillman and their three children: Wesley N. Stillman (Barbara) of Overland Park, KS; daughters, Valerie Y. O’Neill, Ottawa, KS and Jennifer Ramey (Gene) of Independence, MO; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
We invite all who cherished John to join us at White Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 6600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119 for a visitation on Thursday, January 16th, 2025, from 6-8pm, Masonic service at 7pm. A Celebration of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at 10:00am.
To honor John’s legacy, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Veterans Community Project KC or a charity of your choice is preferred.
