Joyce Ann Adams passed away December 24, 2018 at the age of 76. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Kansas City in the late 1980’s working for Aetna and then retiring from DST in 2007. She loved retirement almost as much as she loved her pets! Nearly 40 years old when she got her first dog and in her late 50’s getting her first cat – she quickly made up for lost time. She rescued them, fed them, took care of all their medical needs, and above all loved them until the end. In addition she volunteered at FOPAS, the animal shelter in Parkville. Joyce was an extremely private person and fiercely independent. She didn’t see a need for a memorial service – no flowers, please. If someone wishes to remember her in some way she would most love that they donate to or volunteer at their local animal shelter. And if adding a fur baby to their family – please – “Adopt – Don’t Shop.” Joyce was a devout Catholic and most recently attended St. Gabriel and St. Patrick churches, both in the Northland.
Joyce was preceded in death by her mother Agnes Adams Farka, her brother Greg Adams, and her sister Kalle Petska.
She is survived by her brother Brian Adams and her sister Vivian Dennison and several nieces and nephews throughout the states, and of course her most precious fur babies: Buddy, Elvira, Tony, Precious, Tara, Sammie Girl, Sissy and Tyler. Cremation.
No memorial service. Her ashes will be spread at a later date. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.dwnwhitechapel.com
