Julia was born on December 14, 1943, in Ironton, Ohio to Everett C. Morrison and Mary Louise Morrison. She had a happy childhood and was doted on by her two older sisters Elizabeth Ann and Mary Jeanne. She graduated from Ironton High School and continued her education earning a Nursing Degree at Bethesda School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Julia unknowingly found her soulmate early in life. She met Melvin Snyder, her childhood neighbor, while she was in the fourth grade. Julia was working towards her Nursing Degree while Mel served his county in the United States Air Force. Julia crossed paths with her neighbor Mel again when he was on leave in 1961. During the next four years, Julia and Mel wove their lives together; she graduate from nursing school and he completed his service for his country. The happy couple married in July of 1965, residing in Columbus, Ohio for the next 13 years. The family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1983. The couple had two children: Tracey Louise born in 1967 and Paige Elizabeth born in 1970. Julia retired from the healthcare field in 2002 to care for her grandson Ethan. Tracey remembers her as a funny, loving mother and grandmother who wanted the best for her children and grandchildren. Julia had a warm place in her heart for her son-in-law Gary Miller.
Julia was an individual who loved antiquing, especially with her daughter Tracey, often times the two could be found enjoying old movies and movie trivia. Julia was dedicated to her family. She was also passionate about giving back to others, she volunteered at her grandson Ethan’s elementary school and donated to animal shelters and food pantries.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin George Snyder, parents Everett and Mary Louise Morrison, sisters Elizabeth Anne Workman and Mary Jeanne Bradly, and nephew Mark Workman.
Julia is survived by her daughters Tracey (Gary) Miller and Paige Dobson; grandchildren Ethan, Julia, Sarah and Amanda; Lola the Yorkshire Terrier; great grandchildren Ella, Jasper, Grayson and Reece; eleven nieces and nephews; and her friends.
