Julie Marie Charay

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Julie Marie Charay. She passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 in North Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on August 22, 1973. She was the daughter of Kent and Joy Peach.

Julie was the loving mother of Joe Charay (Meg Weaver), Jacob Charay (Mattie Martin), Jillian Charay, and Alex Charay (Lori Charay). She was the beloved sister of Joleen Sullivan (Steve Sullivan), Jennifer Hoover (Lance Hoover), Janie Einerson (Tait Einerson), Brooke Leichty (Ben Leichty) and Blake Henderson. She was also the aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Jill Little, her grandparents Giles and Beulah Torkelson, and her uncle John Torkelson.

Julie was more than just a family member, she was the glue that held so many people together. As a mother, she was the heart and soul of her family, offering love, support, and guidance. She was truly a caregiver at heart, always putting others before herself and bringing comfort and hope to countless people in both her personal and professional life. Her sense of humor was her gift. Even in her final days she brought laughter. Her quick wit always reminded us all not to take life too seriously.

Julie was a devoted and compassionate registered nurse for over 20 years. Throughout her career she was dedicated to her patients. She worked for Kindred Hospital Northland for the past decade and was loved by all.

Julie was a fierce warrior who fought tirelessly against breast cancer, displaying bravery and strength that inspired all. She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace Julie Marie. You will forever be in our hearts.
