Julie C. Gray, nee McGaw, of Lee’s Summit, MO died peacefully on March 17, 2022. Julie was born on January 6, 1929 in Chicago, IL to John Henry and Harriet Winona McGaw. She grew up and attended school in Green Bay, Wisconsin, furthering her education at the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay. She married William S. Gray in 1952.
During her adulthood, Julie was a stay-at-home mom to her sons, John S. and Michael W. Gray. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, especially quilting. She was also a passionate pet owner to her cats, Michelle, Squeaky, Chessie, and Peter.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her son Mike.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Moran of Rochester, MN, and her son, John Gray (Myonza) of Kansas City. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brad and Crystal Smith, along with their families. Julie also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff in the Memory Care unit at John Knox Village Care Center, and the staff in Village Hospice Care for their devoted care of Julie in her final months.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Naperville, IL.
