Kathryn Knight Stubler, 96 years young, passed away on November 21, 2018 at St. Paul’s Senior Living Center in Chula Vista, California. She was born in Craig, Missouri and lived the majority of her life in the area of Kansas City, Missouri until 2009 when she moved to California.
Kathryn was preceded in death by husbands, Wilbur Knight in 1986 and Joseph Stubler in 2002; and a granddaughter, Melissa Knight in 1983. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Karen K. Ordonio of Chula Vista, California; son, Monty R. Knight and wife Nancy Knight of Leawood, Kansas; seven grandchildren, David, Steven, Kimberly, Kathryn, Kathleen, Monica and Natalie; eleven great-grand-children, Faith, Grace, Phoenix, Kylie, Chandler, Wyatt, Natalie, Emma Kate, Madeline, Tessa, and Ava; and two great-great grandchildren, David and Steven.
Before moving from Liberty, Missouri, Kathryn was an active member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. She was currently a member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and made everyone she came in contact with feel worthy, valued and loved. The world will be a little darker without her; heaven will be a little brighter and the light will continue to shine brightly for those who will always remember her.
Kathryn’s final resting place will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Gladstone, Missouri. Donations in memory of Kathryn can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or stjude.org).
