Katie Bjorklund

She was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas to Scott Harless and Toni Bjorklund.

Katie graduated from Shawnee Mission West with the Class of 2010. She had a strong passion to work with animals, especially dogs. She was currently working with the caring folks at Barry Road Animal Hospital.

Katie was an avid sports fan playing basketball in high school and continuing that love long after. She enjoyed spending many hours on the river banks fishing with her many friends.

Katie was preceded in death by her father, Scott Harless; her maternal great grandparents, Floyd and Dorothy Wyrick; and her grandfather, Beryl Darnell.

Survivors include her mother, Toni Bjorklund; step-father, Keenan Darnell; grandmother, Karen Sue Darnell; sisters, Courtney (Travis) Rogers, Keylee Darnell, and Madison Harless; brothers, Taylor Darnell, Brandon Harless, and Jordan Harless; paternal grandparents, Larry Harless and Shannon (Terry) Younghanz; her aunts, Brooke Beets, Tina Patrzykont, and Cindy Bryant; her uncle, Kelly Statley; her beloved pet and companion, Sonny; many nieces and a nephew that she absolutely adored; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will all miss her.
