
Kendall Delane Otwell passed over on April 24, 2015 to be with his brother Kevin, his grandparents Elmazie and Delbert Pitts, his grandfather Monroe Otwell and a nephew Joseph Otwell. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made to the Diabetes Association.
Kendall (Ken) was born on his grandfather’s birthday, September 28, 1959 in Thomas, Oklahoma. Kendall is survived by his daughter Sarah Anne Briscoe and her husband Christopher Briscoe,three grandsons, Jullius Briscoe, Alexander Briscoe and Oliver Briscoe. He is also survived by his parents Kenneth and Lois Otwell;a sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Darryl Persinger; Grandmother Luevada Otwell of Oklahoma; uncles Bill Pitts, Jim Pitts, Donald Pitts, and Philip Pitts all of Oklahoma; Aunt Glenna Johns of Oklahoma; 8 nieces and 5 nephews.
Kendall attended schools in Oklahoma and Missouri. He graduated from Park Hill where he was active in Student Council. Kendall was very active during his lifetime, as an artist he drew cartoons and sold them, in 1982 he designed and built a gingerbread village which was on display at Spelman Hospital in Smithville and was featured in an article which appeared in the Kansas City Star, he designed and baked wedding cakes for friends and relatives, he designed and drew a comic book about heating and cooling. Growing up, Kendall entertained by singing in several church choirs, as a ventriloquist he performed in school assemblies and church activities. Kendall played little league football, baseball and track. He also played football and ran track and field in high school. Kendall received numerous awards in all sports activities. Kendall was employed at the following: Airport Hilton Hotel, Holiday Inn downtown, Arrowhead Stadium, Wally’s Bakery, Airport Marriott, Superior Supply, and Trane.
Kendall will be remembered for his great sense of humor and will be missed by all members of family and his friends.
