I have had a few conversations with Kim, over the years,  mostly about work or the children. I must say that I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to  have those conversations. My heart is heavy and I am deeply saddened for your loss.  She will be missed by many. Please accept my sincere condolences, and know that you and your family are in my thoughts.

We were blessed to have our paths cross when our daughter played softball together.  Kim was a true friend and she will be missed dearly.

Kim had a natural gift of making people feel seen and heard. She truly had a calming presence and such a gentle nature. Every time I saw her, she made it a point to ask me about my son and would remember the things I told her and bring them up when I saw her next. I never heard her complain and she refused to let us fuss over her. I have so much respect and admiration for the grace with which she faced the past year. She will be deeply, deeply missed.

To the Family,

I send my condolences and pray you all will be strengthened and comforted during this time.  Although I did not work with Kim directly, I remember when I worked in an area near her and we would pass each other at times.  She always had a smile on her face and she exuded positivity.  Her smile will be missed at MCC. Peace and blessings.

A favorite memory when Kim sat with us at the Staley football game even though we were “rivals,” it was so fun being together watching Brandon play, and watching Sean march in the halftime show. Every occasion together felt like a celebration with Kim. She brought light and love everywhere she went.

I worked with Kim at Maple Woods for many years.  She was a caring teacher and make an impact on many lives.  I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of having Kim as my aunt. One of my favorite memories of her was last fall after she was diagnosed with cancer. School had been really difficult, and I texted her before Thanksgiving because I was hoping she’d be home, I was just looking for something to look forward to. Even while she was going through so much herself, she was still there for me. She checked in on me, encouraged me, and even sent me flowers to help me get through the semester.

At Thanksgiving, I remember telling her that I felt silly complaining because I was healthy and school was my biggest problem. She looked at me and said, “Don’t invalidate your feelings just because someone else is struggling.” I’ll never forget that. Even in the middle of her own battle, she always made people feel seen and cared for. That was just who she was.

I met Kim in 2006 when I got a work study job at the Learning Center. Kim, me, Gail, Paula and Joyce spent many years together there, and we had a special bond. We all used to laugh so much, and we could share an entire conversation with one look. Kim loved to help students, and I can’t even express how much she helped me. She lifted me up. Kim helped me change and learn to be professional. She never hurt my feelings and I was so sensitive and immature back then. She was my job reference for 20 years. She once told me she thought I could do anything. We knew each other so well, and we really enjoyed each other’s presence. Kim was an academic and a scholar, she was so smart! We even went through RCIA at the same time. It was really special. We had so many conversations about faith and picking our saint names. When Kim got sick I would text her silly memories of our times together. I wanted to make her laugh. I will miss her for the rest of my life.

Kim had the most beautiful hair. I was honored she wanted me to be her stylist. She always supported me in every career I’ve done. She was one of my biggest supporters.
