Larry Dean Day
December 2, 1936 – May 11, 2018
Larry Dean Day, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri died peacefully May 11, 2018. He was born to Manna and Marjorie Day and was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. Larry served his country in the Marine Corp from 1954-1957 and the Navy from 1958-1962. During his time in the service he became a member of the Catholic Church. On February 10, 1968 he married the love of his life Dorothy and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. Also in 1968 Larry started working for TWA and remained there for over 30 years until his retirement. In 1975 they welcomed their daughter Lisa Diane to the family. He enjoyed many things in life including family vacations, bowling, his KC Royals, and sometimes the KC Chiefs. Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus and received the honor of Fourth Degree . He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church community.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother.
Larry is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughter Lisa Crump, his dog Mickey, and loving family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St. Kansas City, MO 64155, on Friday, May 18 from 4:30-6 pm followed by Mass. Family would like to invite all to enjoy one of Larry's favorite meals after Mass. Private family inurnment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy Family Catholic Church building fund or Kansas City Hospice House.
