Joe, 75, of Kansas City, MO passed on May 27, 2015. Born June 22, 1939 in Phelps, MO to Howard and Beulah Pennington. Joe grew up in the Wichita, KS area until he joined and served proudly in the US Navy. After his service Joe went to work with Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS. In 1965 he settled in the KC area and went to work for TWA and later American Airlines retiring in 2004 after 40 years. On November 5, 1966, Joe married Sharon. Joe was a member of the Ararat Shrine Directors Staff, Mulvane Blue Lodge 201, Mulvane, KS, and Ivy Leaf Eastern Star Lodge 75 in Wichita, KS. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nancy Lynn; and his brothers, Howard Lee and Gerald Wayne. Survivors include his wife 48 years, Sharon; his son, Larry (Diana); his daughter, Robin; and many nieces and nephews and extended family. Services and Military Honors are set for 11 AM, Friday, June 5, 2015 at Leavenworth National Cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30, Thursday, June 4, with Masonic Services at 5 PM, at White Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to any Shriner’s Hospital.
