Our devoted mother, Lauren Romayne Platz, 72 of Kansas City, MO passed away January 4, 2021. Better known as “Pug” and or “Puggy” to her family and friends, she lived her life for her children, always putting them first. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Jack, Daniel, and Marissa. She loved her family and friends with her entire heart. After graduating from Rice Avenue Union High School in Girard, PA, she soon started a family settling in Kansas City, MO in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Adams Godfrey Carnes of Albion, PA, sister Peggy Gariepy and brother Mike Godfrey, both of Lake City, PA.
She is survived by her son Thomas E. Platz Jr. and his wife Monique D. Platz, her daughter Jacquelynn M. Platz and her husband Aaron Yee, grandchildren Jack C. Willard, Daniel M. Platz, and Marissa L. Platz all of Kansas City, MO. Siblings Cheryl Hermann, Rick Godfrey, Debbie Strohmyer, Dick Godfrey, and Tina Carnes as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Anyone who knew Pug knew she loved to laugh; her laugh will be missed most of all.
In Remembrance by Christine Currah:
You gave me life
To live as I please,
You gave me love and
Support to follow my dreams.
Your beauty lives
Forever deep in my soul,
The memory of your love
Fills my heart
And I am never alone.
At the request of our mother, no services will be held at this time. We would like to thank the amazing nurses, doctors, and hospital staff at North Kansas City Hospital for their dedication and care.
